Luke’s Weekend Racing Tips

14-06-2025
Good luck to all our owners, trainers and jockeys this weekend. A number of runners step out across Rosehill, Eagle Farm and Sandown – we’re wishing everyone involved a safe and successful day at the races. Here are Luke’s thoughts on each of our chances 👇

📍Rosehill – Race 3 – 12.10pm
The Extreme Cat: Talented galloper on his day but first up here with the apprentice. He looks to map back in the field and possibly needs the hit out. EW confidence here is just 4/10.
Smashing Time: A hugely talented horse with more head noises than Greta Thunberg. He's got the talent but maybe has a questionable desire. EW confidence 4/10.

📍Eagle Farm – Race 2 – 12.18pm
Tenzing: A marvellous horse who is in great form. WFA is now his new world due to his winning, but he’s an each way hope in a wide race. Confidence EW is 6/10. Right trip – he looks a top 4 and winning chance here with possible some map favours on 2–3 of the ones to beat. EW confidence is 6/10 being only 2nd up off a long time.

📍Sandown – Race 4 – 1.35pm
Saxon King: His form on paper is terrible but he's going great this horse. His jump outs and trial form is good enough to win this and he’s $71 to win. Definitely include him and each way odds are 6/10. Include in all exotics – if the real horse turns up he could blow them away.

📍Rosehill – Race 8 – Winter Cup – 3.05pm
Do Diego De Vega: Much improved run 1st up and now 2nd up out to his.

📍Sandown – Race 7 – 3.25pm
Saydedaty Sadaty: A quality horse who arrives here with a very good last start effort. The big issue here is the lack of speed but if he can handle that he is a winning and top 3 chance. Big fan of the apprentice as well. EW confidence 6/10.
