Is An Upset Brewing in the $2m Invitation
With wins at $26 and $41 her last two Victories - Can Infancy upset them in the $2m Invitation
4.45pm – Randwick Race 7 – Infancy
Just the one runner flying the flag for us this weekend, and for those looking to have a punt, I reckon Infancy represents some genuine value at big odds.
She's only managed 4 wins from 30 starts, which isn't exactly a record that's going to have the Racing Hall of Fame committee working overtime, but she has recently enjoyed a romantic liaison with champion stallion Anamoe, and hopefully she's now in foal.
We're hoping the experience has turned her on in more ways than one! After all, she's spent most of her career getting chased by the boys, so perhaps a change of scenery and finally letting one catch her might be just what the doctor ordered.
And let's be fair, Anamoe is a pretty impressive bloke. Good looks, a magnificent pedigree and plenty of money behind him. The sort of fellow every mother dreams of their daughter bringing home. Hopefully he's left her with more than just fond memories and a slightly different outlook on life!
In all seriousness, this mare is absolutely flying and has been racing consistently well for the past six months. She's going as well as ever, and whilst I suspect she'd need to produce a personal best to beat Lazzura, the race looks wide open for the minor money.
Place confidence: 7/10
For those looking to have a bet, I reckon Lazzura at $3 is the best horse in the race and represents a very good bet. I'd have a little saver on Idle Flyer and perhaps a cheeky place bet on Infancy at big odds.
Hopefully Anamoe has worked his magic. If she comes out and wins this, I'll be recommending a romantic weekend away for half the stable. At this stage, we've tried just about everything else!
