12.13pm – Eagle Farm – Race 4 – Chillaxing

A progressive stayer who really wants soft ground to show his best and, for me, the jury is still out. I thought he was a little ungenuine when the pressure went on last start, and that's the concern. He's one of five genuine winning chances on my numbers, with each-way confidence 6/10.

He's a bit like me on a Monday morning—everything's fine until someone asks for a bit of extra effort. Hopefully today he's had his coffee.

4.27pm – Eagle Farm – Race 9 – Tenzing

A lovely horse and already the winner of over $500,000, so he's been a terrific purchase. His ideal scenario is a slow tempo from an inside draw, but today he gets neither. Resuming from a spell, I'd expect he'll improve off the run. Each-way confidence 5/10.

Everything he'd have written on his Christmas wish list, Santa forgot to deliver. Wrong gate, wrong tempo—but stranger things have happened. I've looked in the mirror.

4.27pm – Eagle Farm – Race 9 – Rising Pacific

The winner of over $327,000, he's a horse crying out for 1800-2000 metres, so dropping back in trip today looks a significant challenge. Despite that, the stable reports have been very positive, and he's working extremely well. He also desperately wants firm ground. Each-way confidence 5/10.
Running him over this trip is a bit like asking your Uncle Barry to win the 100 metres—he'll be doing his best work after everyone else has stopped.
