Saturday Racing Plays
Another big Saturday of racing is upon us, and if you're looking for a bet or two to get you through the day, our resident expert Luke has cast his eye over the form from around the country. He's come up with a few that look over the odds and a couple in the features he's keen on.
For those hunting for some real value, have a look at Nomadic in Race 3 at Rosehill. This horse has had a couple of hidden runs and looks ready to step up in distance. At massive odds of $61 for the win and $18 for the place, it presents as a fantastic each-way prospect to kick off the day.
If a multi is more your style, Luke has identified a promising double. He suggests taking the tote on Aeliana in Race 8 at Rosehill into Litzdeel in Race 7 at Flemington. Both horses appear well-placed and could offer a nice return for a small outlay.
In the feature races, Tom Kitten looks a terrific each-way chance in the Australia Cup. He’s a horse with plenty of talent, and this race looks to set up well for him. In the Vinery Stakes, the stable is confident Ohope can get the win, and for those looking to play the exotics, Salty Pearl seems the logical horse to fill the quinella.
For some other value, Arran Bay in the last at Flemington, Race 10, looks a solid each-way play. On the flip side, Luke is keen to take on the favourite in Race 9 at Flemington. He feels Celerity is the wrong price and that the top three horses in the market look to have stronger claims, so it might be a race to avoid the favourite.
