Welcome to your daily runners update from Australian Bloodstock!
**1:03 pm – Doomben Race 3 – Chillaxing**
A nice middle-distance horse on his day, but it is fair to say trusting him requires more faith than a blind man judging a beauty contest. He's got three to four very good horses to beat here in Prince Levi, Cavalry Man, Lennox and Captain Maverick, so he'll need a career best.
The problem is trying to predict which version of Chillaxing turns up. Some days he's a racehorse; other days, he's about as reliable as a weather forecast from a bloke drinking rum in a caravan park.
If he wins, nobody would be shocked. If he runs last, nobody would be shocked either.
Each-way confidence 6/10.
**3:05 pm – Newcastle Race 7 – Blessed Express**
Winner of her last two starts, and you can't knock the form, but this is a much deeper field, and she'll need to find at least two lengths to win.
The good news is she gets the home track. The bad news is so do a few others.
She's honest, and she'll give you a sight, but this race is about as open as a pub door five minutes after knock-off. If she wins three straight, she'll deserve a standing ovation. If she gets rolled, don't start writing letters to Parliament.
Each-way confidence 5/10.
**3:45 pm – Newcastle Race 8 – Poshy's Girl**
Finally broke through for a deserved win last start after previously mastering the difficult art of running second. Her record now reads four starts for three placings and a win.
There are seven genuine winning chances here, and she probably needs to improve a couple of lengths to be confident of running top two. She draws well, gets every chance, and is certainly capable.
The concern is this race has more chances than a speed dating night in Newcastle.
Still, she's tougher than airport sushi and more honest than a tax bill. She'll put herself in the race and make them earn it.
Each-way confidence 6/10.
Good luck to all the Connections, Jockeys, and Trainers.
